Young Adult programs are open to teens and preteens/tweens in grades 5 to 12. Registration is available for all programs and activities two to three weeks in advance at the Reference Desk and the Children’s Room.
Book & Movie Club

For Teens 6th – 12th grade
Join us once a month when we watch a movie that was inspired by a popular YA book. Enjoy snacks and drinks and a discussion of how the book and movie compare. We welcome suggestions for future books and movies, so please share your opinions. Call or visit the Reference Desk to sign up and find out what book and movie is coming up next!
Video Game Tournament

For Kids and Teens 6th – 12th grade
Enter our video game tournament, enjoy some snacks, and play new games every month! Prizes will be given out to the winners of each tournament. Our most popular game is Super Smash Brothers on the Wii, but please share your thoughts if you’d like to see new games. Please call or visit the Reference Desk to sign up.

Teen Advisory Board!
Here’s your chance to tell the library what you think about us and what we should be doing for you! Just join our Teen Advisory Group and have your say at our monthly meetings. If you’re in grade 5 through 12, we invite you to come to our meetings and take part in making the library a better place for teens!
Our Ann C. Hurley Community Room will be available as a Tween/Teen Room after school, from 3-5pm, for doing homework, reading, Kinect Xbox 360 gaming, playing board games, watching movies, and listening to CDs on laptops. The Tween/Teen Room is open after school from 3:00PM–5:00PM. Please contact the Children’s Room for the dates the Room is open. Dates are subject to change.
